EGG SHELLS

Egg shell

Where can I recycle? »

All of Wales is covered by a weekly food waste collection scheme. Egg shells can be included in this. Egg shells can also be included in your garden’scomposting bin (if you have one).

Other uses:

  • Make a wall of crushed egg shells around your plants to deter slugs, snails and caterpillars;
  • Add egg shells to your garden’s compost bin - If you don't currently have a compost bin, see our guide on how to set one up. We have a handy list of items you can and can't put in too.  Most council’s in Wales operate a low cost purchase scheme for garden compost bins. Please contact your local council to find out when their next sale is.
